Saga House transforms a Grade II Listed townhouse on Craven Street in the heart of Westminster into a creative workplace for a film production company, carefully balancing the building's historic character with an interior defined by warmth, comfort and character. Designed to support both collaborative working and focused post-production, the project reimagines a series of richly layered spaces that feel more akin to a members' club than a conventional workplace.

The design celebrates the building's architectural heritage by retaining original panelling, cornices and detailing, while introducing a carefully considered material palette to define the atmosphere of each space. Inspired by the immersive qualities of cinema interiors, tonal saturation becomes a key design device, with walls, ceilings and joinery wrapped in curated colours that transition from light, neutral spaces to darker, more intimate editing suites. This shift establishes a clear hierarchy between social and focused working environments, while walnut joinery, brass detailing and heavy drapery reinforce a sense of warmth, intimacy and acoustic comfort.

The ground floor has been conceived as a welcoming social space for informal meetings, client presentations and everyday collaboration, while the upper floors provide quieter editing suites designed for concentration and privacy. Throughout the building, the client's collection of original film posters has been integrated into the interiors, adding another layer of character and reinforcing the creative identity of the workspace. The result is a workplace that respects the heritage of the original townhouse while creating a distinctive environment where filmmaking, comfort and craftsmanship come together.
