Commissioned by OneWorks ahead of Milan Design Week, the Milan Mural transforms the arrival courtyard of the practice's headquarters into a bold environmental graphic that celebrates the multidisciplinary nature of the business. Conceived as both a permanent installation and a focal point for Salone del Mobile, the mural creates a vibrant first impression, bringing energy, identity and optimism to an otherwise overlooked space.
The design draws inspiration from the diverse sectors in which OneWorks operates, including architecture, aviation, rail and retail. Abstract graphic forms reference movement, connectivity and infrastructure, creating a dynamic composition that reflects the practice's collaborative approach to design. A bold colour palette, developed from the OneWorks brand identity, reinforces these ideas while creating a confident visual presence that animates the courtyard throughout the year.
Experienced as visitors enter the building, the mural transforms the journey through the courtyard into a playful and engaging arrival sequence. More than a graphic intervention, it establishes a strong sense of place and belonging, using colour, scale and pattern to celebrate creativity during Milan Design Week while providing a lasting expression of OneWorks' identity long after the events have concluded.
