Developed alongside the Boulevard Theatre at Walker’s Court, the visual identity forms part of a wider design approach that brought together architecture, interiors, branding and wayfinding. Conceived as the graphic expression of a new cultural venue in the heart of Soho, the identity draws on the area’s long association with theatre, performance and nightlife while reflecting the innovative character of the theatre itself.
The design takes inspiration from the cylindrical form of the auditorium and the layered history of the surrounding streets. At its centre is a distinctive ‘B’ marque derived from the geometry of the theatre, paired with a keyhole motif that references the intrigue, secrecy and hidden histories that have long defined Soho. These graphic devices create a bold yet timeless identity that balances theatricality with clarity.
The branding extends throughout the visitor experience, appearing across signage, wayfinding, menus and printed materials. Graphic elements are translated into the architecture and interiors, becoming part of the physical fabric of the building rather than existing as a separate layer. Through this integrated approach, the identity reinforces the connection between the theatre, the wider Walker’s Court development and Soho itself, creating a distinctive brand rooted in both place and performance.
